Ear Buzz

Today I have some fun podcast to share with you! As I have been back in school, I have been working out everyday by walking a couple miles around my neighborhood. #notarunner! I have so enjoyed this exercise everyday, but even more so I look forward to what I’m going to be listening to on my walk!

I cannot walk to music because that just makes me want to dance and I think my neighbors would call the cops on the crazy spazzing around the neighborhood! So I listen to podcasts! Below are some of my favorite podcasts and a little bit about them!

Huddlecast: This is a brand new podcast, they only have three episodes so it would be easy for you to become current! This podcast is actually put on by 4 of my dear friends. It’s two brothers and their wives. After being so close in college, they realized that they were struggling to stay in touch with each other consistently so they created a podcast! It a fun little show filled with stories from their lives, faith, and a whole lot of laughter! (My neighbors probably think I’m crazy from laughing while I walk!

Happy Hour with Jamie Ivey: This podcast was recommended to me by my BFF Alexa! She listens to it on her drive home after work and has been telling me about it for MONTHS now! So I finally bit the bullet and turned her on one day. Every week, Jamie calls up one of her friends and its a conversation she has with them! It is super cute, they talk about life, family, faith, etc. The conversations are so great and I feel like I have learned so much from the few episodes I have heard! She currently has 158 episodes, but I of course started at the beginning so I’ve only listened to like 8. At least I’m not worried about running out anytime soon!

Sermons: Okay truth time. I don’t love the church I do to, but I’ve been going there for 5 years so I wasn’t going to switch it up in my last semester! So I have filled the “spiritual void” (as I call it) from not enjoying my church by finding podcasts I do like and can relate to! I love listening to Watermark, it is a church in Dallas, they also have The Porch which is their young adult bible study. My school has a campus bible study called Breakaway and if I can’t attend I make sure to listen the following week!

Do you have any podcasts you love to listen to? What else do you think I should try?

Book Shelf Update

Happy Labor Day weekend! I’ve always loved Labor Day Weekend. Even though my school doesn’t acknowledge the holiday, It has always signified the last summer hooray and a turning point in the year. Fun things are always going on over Labor Day Weekend, and it’s a perfect time to lose yourself in a good novel!

I set a goal to read 36 books this year. I’ve only read 11…. so I’m a little behind, but I’ll get there! I thought I would share some of the books I’ve read over the summer and what is on my reading list! Maybe you’ll download one for your day away from the office!

  • Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson
    • Very eye-opening on the racial discrimination that is occurring today and those who work endlessly for a brief glimmer of justice.
