FOMO No Mo{re}

GOMOFear Of Missing Out is such a huge thing, I totally have it. But at the same time, I’m a total homebody so I kind of set myself up for it… Now, there is a new acronym in town- GOMO! Go Out More Often! I am determined to make this my thing for graduate school, Lord knows I will remember the fun and crazy things I did with friends WAY more the hours in the library or watching Netflix!

I have come up with fun things to go out and do in College Station, while this may not apply to all of my readers, hopefully it will give you some ideas of things you can do or look for!

ACTIVITIES:

Head out to Downtown Bryan’s First Friday! ~~This is coming up this weekend! What fun! All of the shops and restaurants stay open late and it is a fun and lively atmosphere!

Go to a trivia night or a pub quiz! ~~ Okay, I did this last year at Harvey Washbangers and it was a blast! Event though we were wrong half of the time, we had the best time coming up with random answers when we had absolutely NO idea! *Watch out though, some people are super serious about this*

Escape Room! ~~You are inside this place and one of your friends is secluded form the others and you must work was a team to get them back!

Spirit Ice Arena! ~~Who doesn’t love a good night of ice skating and falling down? *Jacket encouraged*

Movie in the Park! ~~Wolf Pen does this at least once a month! Grab friends and take a picnic to watch a movie under the stars!

Painting with a Twist! ~~ So munch fun! My cousin and I went this summer and had a great time! It’s BYO Refreshment so you can make it as fun as you want!

TRAVEL:

Watch the Sunset/rise on Sugar Loaf Mountain! ~~This rock is located between CStat and Waco! It is the penultimate hipster move- don’t forget your Chacos!

Take a trip to Blue Bell Creamery in Brenham! ~~I can’t believe I went all the way though Undergrad and didn’t manage to make this happen! On the bucket list for sure!!!

EAT/DRINK:

Blackwater Draw! ~~ Voted the best hamburger in town! *Be sure to check them out for Sunday Morning Brunch as well!*

Hullabaloo Diner! ~~ No, not the dorm. This place is WAY out Wellborn, but it was on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives! And it has never disappointed!

Downtown Uncorked! ~~This wine bar in downtown Bryan is one of my favorite hangouts! It’s wine, apps, and dessert- what more could a girl want?

Messina Hof! ~~ The Local winery in town! Great food, AMAZING wine!

What will you do to GOMO?

I can pencil you in…

IMG_0210IMG_0211IMG_0212 I am a Type A person to a tee! I like things neat and orderly, and I like to write things down. Most of the time if I don’t write it down I totally forget about it (this has definitely backfired on me once or twice…)

I have stayed organized with a planner since I was 12 years old! I have gone through the list of “best planners” and not been satisfied. That’s the thing with planners, it has to fit your needs and your style of organization!

This past year I fell in love with MyAgenda. I love the fact that you can see every day of the week on one spread. It totally helps me get a grip on my week and what things I may have due or planned. It also comes with two bookmark ribbons, so I keep one on the current week ad the other on the monthly calendar where I post all of my big events/important dates so I can find them quickly at first glance!

I keep my planner organized by using Pilot G2 gel pens. My colors correlate as listed:

  • Purple: life (social things, nail appointments etc.)
  • Blue: School (classes, homework, exams)
  • Maroon: Texas A&M Events (football games, performances)
  • Pink: Work
  • Red: My student organization

I also spend some time once a week to make sure my computer iCal and planner match up. That way if I add something while on my computer in class or put something in my phone then it’s where I need it to be whenever I look it up!

Haha 3. I am in love with this fur scarf! How perfect is this for dressing up a winter outfit or throwing on with a party dress to add a little glam! I also see this look at a lot of weddings! 4.
