Memphis, well Tennessee in general, is known for its BBQ so of course Mom and I had to try it out before she left town! Let me tell you, Central did not disappoint! I got the ribs and Momma got the pulled pork and we both left with Happy Bellies!
The Peabody hotel is famous for its duck ceremony that occurs every day. I was luck enough to go on a private tour as we studies the evacuation routes for an event we were hosting! This is me on the outside maintenance area with their duck logo, many of the rooms can see this view from their window!
St. Jude is the patron saint of Lost Causes. Danny Thomas donated this statue when St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital opened its doors in 1962. It remains outside the front doors as a beacon of hope to all who enter. This photo was taken after I received my hospital tour certification, and yes, I got made fun of for Gigging it in this photo!
Memphis was the heart of Cotton growing back in the day. You can even take a tour of the cotton factory drag! I spent an afternoon in their cotton museum to learn some rich history!
Memphis has the most spectacular Fire museum. They have fire trucks on display that were pulled by horses in the 1800s. This museum also provides fire safety training through a simulation room that replicates the feeling of being in a fire (no real fire- I was safe Mom!) Also!! I got to drive a fire truck, okay it was just a simulation, but still so cool!
As interns we had a social at the Memphis Redbirds baseball game. Everyone got these hats and I just had to show it off!
Check out this sweet group of girls! I am so blessed to found such wonderful friendships in them this summer. Each one of them has made the transition to a new city alone so easy and they fill everyday with joy and excitement!
Late nights with Gina are always filled with random adventures! We started off wanting ice cream and ended up with donuts- same thing right?
This is us on the Memphis/Arkansas bridge. Why is standing in two state at once so exhilarating???
Another adventure was to Ole Miss! I’ve heard for years what a beautiful campus it is and the rumors were SO true! We couldn’t get enough of the breath taking views!
Just hanging out in the Grove with a Magnolia flower, too bad it died before we even made it home to Memphis!
Couldn’t miss a photo under the iconic Walk of Champions!
Once a Theta, always a Theta. Couldn’t not take a pic (that was worthy of a double negative!)
There is so much more to come in the coming weeks, so be sure to check back in to see what I’m up to!
